Walnut Ridge students offer patriotic songs for veterans and family members

VERNON — Hundreds of parents and grandparents came to “Peaceful Playground” of the Walnut Ridge Primary School on Tuesday to hear their special little ones sign a medley of patriotic songs.
In keeping with its moniker “The Little School with the Big Heart,” family members are often invited to the school’s special family-oriented programs.
Walnut Ridge Principal Rosemary Gebhardt began the program by asking all veterans present to come to the flag area during the ceremonial opening to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
The program also included children presenting “Dedicated Dads” T-shirts to their fathers have been volunteering at the school.
