Straus News, publisher of The Chronicle, and local job-hunting site Regional Help Wanted brought their long-standing rivalry to the field last Thursday for their annual softball game. The game was organized by competitive siblings Jeanne Straus, president of Straus News, and Eric Straus, president of Regional Help Wanted.
After innings of cheers from both sides of the fence, Straus News wrapped up the game with a win.
Team captain, IT master, and home-run-hitter Pete Pinto played a vital role in leading the publishing company to victory. Goshen High School senior Teddy Zaphiris, who has been freelancing for the newspaper since he was 10 years old, starred as shortstop. Dirt magazine editor, Becca Tucker, turned a crucial 6-4-3 double play, ending an inning.
The game finished with traditional handshakes and rematch for 2017.
