Robert W. Siegel, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born in Sussex to the late Arthur W. and Madeline F. (Stronigan) Siegel, Bob had lived in Sussex all of his life. He graduated from the University of Southern Florida with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. Bob had worked with his father in the family plumbing business, A.W. Siegel Plumbing in Sussex and recently retired last year. He was a registered volunteer for SCARC and helped at the Sussex Group Home. Bob was full of life and not only worked hard, but he always made people smile. He was a true friend, wonderful father and grandfather, and a spectacular boyfriend. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and AC/DC fan. Bob enjoyed being outdoors and loved to play golf, go fishing, gardening, kayaking, and spending time at the shore. He is survived by his son, Jason of Florida; his daughter, Allison of Florida; his granddaughter, Ava; his girlfriend, Jennifer Space of Sussex; his best friend, Diane Redner of Vernon; and his cherished dog, Sadie. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
Friends may pay their respects to the family on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Sussex Fire Department First Aid Squad, 25 Loomis Avenue, Sussex, NJ 07461 or to Karen Ann Quinlan Center of Hope Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860. The family requests that on the day of the funeral you come dressed in Tie dye, Hawaiian themed shirts, or Harley Davidson themed shirts to honor Bob for the last time.
