I had my tank serviced recently and it was bought to our attention that the tank is metal and should be replaced, what are my options and is this something that should be done?

Typically, metal septic tanks were used in the 1960’s and 1970’s and are outdated. In our profession we do highly advice replacement of metal tanks for safety concerns first. As they age, they will deteriorate and may collapse without much warning. Today, tanks are commonly constructed of concrete or high density polyethylene plastic.
