Every time our septic system is serviced, I have to locate and dig to expose the cover(s) on the tank. Is there a way that this can be avoided to make the cover(s) more readily accessible?

The answer is yes. You can have what we call a riser build up installed over the main access, as well as the inlet and outlet covers of the tank.

The risers in most cases can be custom cut so the covers can be installed flush to grade or slightly buried if located in a landscaped area, front yard, etc. If you decide to install a riser with a lid at surface, the lid should be a locking type lid for safety.
