VTHS senior awarded 3 scholarships

Blair Lanza, a senior honors student at Vernon Township High School and resident of Glenwood has been awarded 3 scholarships.
An accepted freshman at Sussex County Community College for the fall of 2016, she is the recipient of the SCCC Foundation Scholarship for Vernon High School and the 9/11 Memorial Scholarship. Both scholarships were given in honor of her outstanding academic commitment and character. The third scholarship was awarded by the Former New Jersey State Troopers Association, as Blair is the granddaughter of retired NJ State Trooper, Lt. Joseph T. Phillips, III also of Glenwood.
In addition to being an honor roll student, she is a member of the National Theater Honor Society, a member of the VTHS Les Chanteuses all female choir, Concert Choir, VTHS Theatre Program, Highland Stage Youth Theater Company, and a member of the Ziegler Dance Center. Blair also volunteers at the YMCA and Discovery Years Center for Early Childhood Education in Glenwood.
This year, Blair was selected as a keynote speaker for the State Department of Education's "Dare to Dream Student Leadership Conference" which was held on May 31.
