The program was developed to help schools recognize and honor those students who have achieved high academic goals through hard work and dedication. Students are eligible for one of two honors: the President’s Award for Educational Excellence or the President’s Award for Educational Achievement. The certificates were signed by the President, the U.S. Secretary of Education, the building principal and assistant principal. A congratulatory letter from the President and lapel pin accompanied the award. The sponsoring associations firmly believe that recognition for their efforts and achievements is vital for motivating young students to be successful and our schools must encourage all students to try harder, reach higher goals and expand their imaginations.
