Early Friday afternoon, Mountain Creek Water Park once again participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. Unlike last year’s chilly day, the weather cooperated as 43 kids, plus some parent, had the chance to learn more about swimming and water safety.
According to Aquatics Director Tim Stone, the water park has between 80 to 100 lifeguards working each day, depending on the crowds that attend. All told, the water park has a grand total of 280 people on his staff.
The message that the sponsors hoped to convey was “Swimming Lessons Save Lives.”
In return for their participation in the 30-plus-minute free event, the eager learners each received a complimentary ticket to return to the water park.
