AUGUSTA — – July will be a month filled with patriotism and fireworks at the All-New Skylands Stadium.
If you missed the Independence Day fireworks, fear not. Less than a week later, the Miners will host yet another fireworks show as part of Paint the Park Purple night, presented by Relay for Life. On Saturday, July 9, the Miners will partner with Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society to put together a special event dedicated to raising cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to dress in purple to show support for the cause and the night will culminate with another explosive fireworks show. First pitch against the Ottawa Champions is at 7:05 p.m.
The Miners are committed to honoring the brave men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces, and on Friday, July 15, the night will be dedicated to the United States military. On Military Appreciation Night, the Miners will hold a special pregame ceremony on the field. Veterans will be invited on the field as special guests to throw out ceremonial first pitches and armored military vehicles will delight fans by driving a lap around the field. In addition, any active or former military members can purchase discounted tickets for only $8 by showing their military ID. First pitch against the New Jersey Jackals will be at 7:05 p.m.
The series against the Shikoku Island League All-Stars and the Cuban National Team may be over, but the Miners are far from finished bringing international flavor to the All-New Skylands Stadium. On Thursday, July 21, the Miners and their friends at Riviera Maya Authentic Mexican Restaurants will liven up the ballpark. Sights, sounds, smells and tastes from the vibrant Mexican culture will fill Skylands Stadium as the Miners host the Rockland Boulders with first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
Don’t miss out on your chance to learn from the pros at the Miners Summer Camp from July 18-22 (no camp on July 20). Join us as Manager Bobby Jones, along with assistant coaches and Miners players, teach the skills of the game during this one week camp. Sussex County is filled with good boys and girls, so Christmas will be coming early to Skylands Stadium this year. On Friday, July 29, Herbie the Miner’s stocking will be hung with care and the ballpark will light up with Christmas cheer for Christmas in July. Fans can enjoy Christmas themed games between innings and delight in hearing their favorite Christmas tunes as the Miners take on the Quebec Capitales at 7:05 p.m.
The Miners will be home for 13 games in July, including three fireworks shows on three Saturdays on July 9, 16 and 30. Also, if free giveaways are more your thing, make sure to head to the All-New Skylands Stadium on Sunday, July 10 and Sunday, July 31, as the first 150 kids in attendance will receive free Family Partners logo baseballs, courtesy of Family Partners of Morris and Sussex Counties.
