RoNetco Supermarkets launches summer internship program

RoNetco Supermarkets launched its 7th Annual Summer Internship Program with eight students representing colleges and universities from the Northeast.
The 10-week paid program provides for hands-on, practical experience in what it takes to lead and operate a high-volume supermarket with a focus on the customer experience. Applying college-related course studies in a viable business environment is an invaluable experience that can’t be duplicated in the classroom.
The traditional program for college seniors rotates the students through 10 distinct departments before they make their final selection, and a special project is completed in that particular department which focuses on increasing efficiencies. The Special Services program is specifically designed for those who will enter their junior year of college in the fall, working with ShopRite’s technical applications that are closely related and impact the computer generated ordering inventory programs. They also have a heavy focus on ShopRite’s new Mobile Scan technology, which gives shoppers the ability to use their smartphone to scan items while they shop for a faster checkout experience (now available in Byram, Newton, and Mansfield ShopRite stores).
At the conclusion of the internship, students will make a presentation to the corporate management team that details their research, findings, and conclusions with recommendations to be considered for implementation.
