Former chairwoman responds

This letter is in response to Mary Ellen and Steve Vichiconti. There was one stock photo used in the environmental commission’s presentation on Camp Sussex to the council because the actual photo taken at the camp was too dark. The Vernon police accompanied me to the camp and there is a police report available to confirm the condition of the camp on that day.
I have in my possession a letter from Phil Luogameno of North Star Building, confirming that in 2008 the infirmary was emptied of all contents and at no time did he recall seeing hypodermic needles in the building. Patrolman Gebhart also told us the needles were not for human use. They were veterinary hypodermics. Addicts will use any sharps they can get their hands on. I have in my possession hundreds of photographs of hypodermics and all the other nasties that infiltrated the camp. So get a new idea to sell the public; they aren’t t buying this one.
As far as the grant, I will no longer tolerate the reckless, incompetent, and disparaging comments from average people such as yourselves who have no knowledge of what you speak. I was served a Rice notice by John Ursin, and I received it the day after I was to appear to speak on my behalf. I wanted my due process, which is to appear in public and hear their complaint. I still have no answer to date.
I did all and more than was required by the State of New Jersey and the Department of Environmental Protection to secure both the non-matching No Net Loss grants I wrote for Vernon totaling $385,960. If I was deficient in any way Vernon would not have gotten a dime.
P.S. Water the trees, Harry Shortway!
    Beverly Budz
    Chairwoman, Vernon Environmental Commission
