    Alyssia Schmitt, 22, of Newton was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to complete 50 hours of community service, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, appear for drug monitoring, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.
    She pleaded guilty on May 31 to credit card theft, a fourth-degree crime.
    The defendant took her father’s credit card without permission and made transactions at multiple locations.

    July 18

    Michael Gable, 43, of Monticello, N.Y., pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
    On July 21, 2015, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in Lafayette. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to having 83 wax paper folds of heroin on his person.
    The case was investigated by Trooper D. J. Rubino of the New Jersey state police.

    July 22

    James Musial, 28, of Harveys Lake, Pa., was sentenced to one year of probation and must serve 30 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility.
    He received credit for 19 days already served. The defendant must also obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, obtain his GED, submit a DNA sample, testify truthfully against his co-defendant and pay $1,205.00 in court fines and fees.
    He pleaded guilty on May 31, 2016, to third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
    While the defendant was a passenger in a motor vehicle that had been stopped by New Jersey State Troopers he was found to be in possession of Heroin.
