Although the forecast was somewhat questionable, Anthony Riccio, CEO and president of Cava Winery & Vineyard made the decision that the show must go on.
On Saturday, the winery and vineyard hosted their Fourth Annual Wine & Wings event. Despite the forecast, hundreds of wine and food fanciers turned out under leaden skies that yielded to both light and heavy rains that started at around 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Despite the passing storms, the wine lovers proved their dedication to the local venue as they took turns seeking shelter under the large tents that helped to shield them from Mother Nature. They also reaffirmed their fondness for the winery’s classic pizza prepared in their wood-burning pizza oven.
The chicken wings were also very popular and for those who didn’t let the rain bother them, the day was once again a success that included exceptional food, music, dancing, and camaraderie.
More information about the winery can be found at www.cavawinery.com or just stop by for a visit them at 3619 Route 94.
