Gas tax 'does nothing to help the working commuter'

Voters of NJ soon you will see the gas tax increase to the sixth highest in the nation. This will be on top of us paying the highest property tax in the nation and the third highest car insurance in the nation. NJ has a poor economic outlook, high corporate taxes and one of the worst states in the country to retire in. So what do our legislators do to improve New Jersey’s outlook? They tax us some more!
Whenever you tax gas/petroleum products you are not only taxing 7 million commuters but you are also increasing the cost of food, goods and services. Corporations will simply pass the increased energy costs to you, the consumer.
Senator Oroho one of the authors of this legislation and a so called fiscal conservative has failed every commuter in NJ. He has lost touch with the working class and is just another tax and spend politician and in my opinion, a discredit to the Republican Party.
So what can you do to fight this? When comes time, vote them out to start! You can try calling or writing your legislator but it won’t do much good. The special interest groups have their undivided attention. To reduce your tax burden I can suggest that everyone in NJ fight their property taxes as most towns have exaggerated your home values. When it’s time to retire, get out and move to a state that doesn’t tax your retirement benefits like NJ does.
Don’t get fooled by the revised tax fairness initiative worked out between the chambers. This does nothing to help the working commuter.
Trying to prosper is a difficult task here in NJ. Instead of working hard to reduce spending, they prefer to take the easy way out and tax us into deprivation.
