The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council will hold its annual Senior Citizen Art Exhibit Reception and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 4-6 p.m.
This exhibit will showcase some of the wonderful talent from senior citizens in Sussex County.
Sussex County Community College Professor of Fine Arts, Dr. Julie McWilliams will judge the exhibit and District 24 New Jersey State Senator, Honorable Steven V. Oroho will be handing out the awards.
The award winners from the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council Exhibit will then go on to be displayed and juried at a state exhibit in East Windsor at the Meadow Lakes Senior Community, where winners will be juried along with other participants from the state of New Jersey. The Windsor show opens to the public on Thursday, Sept. 22, and will run through Thursday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or by appointment), and the Awards Ceremony and Closing Reception will be held on Oct, 28.
This year is the 50th Anniversary for the State Senior Art Exhibit and Sussex County has been a participant for most of those years as the Arts and Heritage Council is celebrating their 45th anniversary this year.
