Joseph J. 'Voe Vee' Vieradka

Joseph J. “Joe Vee” Vieradka, 72, died Friday Aug. 12, 2016, at Castlepoint Veterans Hospital in Wappingers Falls, N.Y. Joe, son of the late Joseph and Helen (Lyness) Vieradka was born in Paterson July 30, 1944. He has been a longtime resident of the Highland Lakes section of Vernon.
Joe went to St. George’s Grammar School in Paterson and graduated from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City. He also attended McMurray College in Illinois.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1965-71. He was a lifetime member of Wallkill Valley Memorial VFW Post #8441 of Vernon and had served as Post Commander from 1995-1996. Joe also served as the Posts’ Club Manager for over 20 years.
He is survived by his cousins, George Sterling of Woodland Park and Rita Redy of Seaside Park as well as many friends.
A memorial service will be held at Wallkill Valley Memorial VFW Post #8441 313 Rt. 94 Vernon, NJ 07462 on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at 3 p.m. A repast will follow until 6 p.m.
