Heating Oil is not gasonline

My letter refers to the front page article titled "Vernon airs gas tax concerns." In this article, you stated that Sandra Ooms was concerned with the township's budget, "which would have to accommodate increases for heating oil..." I am wondering why no one on the Town Council had enough sense to inform Ms. Ooms that heating oil is not gasoline and is, therefore, not subject to the N.J. gasoline tax.
Seriously, there is enough stress over this. Let's not make it worse by allowing rumors like that to spread even more panic.
