Beefsteak, comedy night to benefit DASI

| 24 Aug 2016 | 12:19

All proceeds from the Beefsteak & Night of Comedy on Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Barn at Hillside Park, 146 Lake Iliff Road in Andover will benefit DASI (Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Intervention Services), a community-based private nonprofit serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Sussex County.
Catered by the Brownstone, dinner will include antipasti, salad, pasta, and beefsteak. Beer and wine will be available.
DASI Executive Director Jamie Bernard states, “While we all know domestic and sexual violence are not laughing matters, we also know a good, hearty laugh is healing for the mind, body and spirit. We hope the community will come out and support DASI’s vital services at this event.”
The evening features comedy with Robin Fox and Tim Hayes. Robin Fox currently appears on NickMom in Nickelodeon’s stand-up comedy special called “NickMom Night Out.” This very funny New Jersey Mom decided after 17 years of being a housewife, that being the funniest mom on the block wasn't enough for her. Ten years ago, Robin moved her act from the school bus stop to the stage. Robin is a powerhouse and her act puts a unique spin on her 27 year marriage, kids, her aging parents and suburban life and so much more. Not only is she hysterical, she is unique and memorable. Audiences took to this "Mother like no other" from the very start. Robin Fox quickly rose through the comedy ranks and can be seen performing at some of the top Comedy Clubs and venues throughout NYC and the northeast. Robin’s talent was quickly noticed as she distinguished herself at several comedy competitions and she can be heard on rotation on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio.
Everyone’s favorite dad, Tim Hayes, is the consummate emcee performing all over the tristate area bringing his very funny brand of humor to clubs, private events and fundraisers. A chiropractor by day and a standup comedian by night he moves between making people laugh while lying on his table to making people laugh while sitting upright in an audience. He recently won the Sarcasm Comedy Competition and will open for Robert Klein. He has appeared at some of the top venues in the tristate area including Gotham, Broadway, New York and Stand Up N.Y. comedy clubs in New York City. Not limited to stand up, Tim has worked also as an actor and has been seen on Law And Order: SVU as well as a host of indie films which have won awards at the Sundance, Gen Art and East Hampton Film Festival.
