Two new installments of the Big Apple Comedy Club have been scheduled at The Newton Theatre. Both Fridays, one is on Nov. 25 and the other is Jan. 27, 2017.
Each of the Big Apple Comedy Club shows feature four of New York City’s best comedians. The popular comedy series always delivers a hilarious night of hot comedy with top-of-the-line stand-ups.
The November show features Kevin Downey Jr, one of America’s funniest comedians, who headlines comedy clubs coast-to-coast, and makes memorable appearances on radio and TV (America’s Got Talent, Comedy Central, What Not to Wear and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy). Paul Virzi was the runner-up in The Hudson Valley's Funniest Man Competition in 2000 and he’s been on a comedy streak ever since. Louis Ramey is recognizable from his numerous TV appearances and is an award-winning comedian. Also on the bill is Moody McCarthy who is quite simply one of America's sharpest young comedy minds. He makes the rounds at the nation’s top comedy clubs and has been a guest on the late night talk shows.
The January show features Mark DeMayo, who is a recently retired from the NYPD and has a lot of stories about his days on the force that are insightful and hysterical. He has been on ShowTime, and Comedy Central and has guest starred on CBS’s “DellaVentura,” “Central Park West” and Fox’s “The Jury.” Tina Giorgi is a national headlining comedian and no doubt one of New York’s most clever acts. She has been featured at comedy clubs, festivals, and on TV. Tina also co-wrote and co-stars in the groundbreaking Off-Broadway hit comedy, "Shut Up, Sit Down & Eat.” Johnny Rizzo is one of America’s Funniest People. Literally. He was the $10,000 winner on the show of the same name. Known for his “rubber face,” Johnny is also a club favorite throughout the country. Comedian-Actor Ruperto Vanderpool is on the cusp of greatness. Just getting off the run of the award winning Off-Broadway Hit "La Barberia," the native New Yorker is a natural comedian with an international appeal and flair.
