Parents and caregivers faced with the task of finding and implementing resources and supports for their children with mental, emotional, behavioral or developmental health challenges will have an opportunity to learn about free services for which they may qualify through the New Jersey Department of Children and Families Children’s System of Care.
On Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties will host an orientation and informational workshop for families currently receiving or interested in receiving family support services through the Children’s System of Care. This educational session will provide a clear description of the roles and relationships among the organizations and system partners involved in this system of care: the Care Management Organization, Mobile Response, and the Family Support Organization.
Participants will learn about the role of PerformCare as the single point of entry for families seeking services through the CSOC. The workshop will also include discussions about steps to take when a child or youth is experiencing a mental health, emotional or substance abuse crisis. Rachel Helt, Executive Director of Family Partners will facilitate the session along with Renee Riley, a Family Partner with the organization.
The program will take place from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Family Partners Community Center, 67 Spring Street, Newton, and is free and open to the public.
Refreshments will be provided. Registration is suggested. For further information or to register, please contact the Family Partners office, 973-940-3194, Ext. 19.
