Sussex Elks Lodge #2288 hosted a successful fundraiser for special needs children on Saturday.
In addition to numerous vendors and live bands, there was plenty of food for the hungry as well as several therapy dogs for people to enjoy. The event was coordinated by Carol Meister who is the chair of the Special Children’s Committee at the Sussex Elks Lodge.
Shannon Danz of West Milford also offered palm readings inside the lodge and outside the Ng family represented Virginia-based Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers, while hoping to also raise funds for their son Ethan who is badly in need for his own service dog.
The cost of such dogs is usually in the $49K to $52K range for each dog. • The Sussex Elks Lodge is located at 153 County Route 565, Wantage and is available for rentals.
