The Vernon Township High School boys’ volleyball team, coached by Jeff DeYoung, recently received the American Volleyball Coaches Association Academic Award for the 2015-16 season, one of only 22 high schools in the nation to be recognized.

Vernon’s volleyball team last year maintained a GPA of 88.73. Every player who saw varsity time had to be included.
The 12 members of the squad who earned this distinguished award are: Ryan Eilinger, Ethan Kolonoski, Andrew Lisa, Eamon Logue, Steven Lohwin, Andrew Nangle, Chris Ploch, Tim Ploch, Anibal Rodriguez, Parker Shade, Marcel Thomsen, and Stephan Thomsen.
