VERNON — Now that autumn has arrived, farms throughout the area are beaconing visitors from near and far.
No exception is Pochuck Valley Farms on Route 517 in the Glenwood section of Vernon.
In addition to apples, pears are also in season at the farm. High above the county highway below, the views from the orchard are exceptional for visitors looking to the north into Orange County, N.Y., and east to Wawayanda Mountain and beyond.
Currently, the varieties of apples available are Rome Beauty, Lobo Macs, Macintosh, Honey Crisp, Rhode Island Greening, Courtland, Red Delicious, Mutsu, and Jonathan Macs.
