Vernon resident named Miss Ramapo Valley

Haley Beauparlant was recently crowned Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen 2017 on Aug. 20 at the Fairlawn Community Center.
As Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen 2017, the Vernon Township High School student will compete for the Miss New Jersey’s Outstanding Teen title January 21st, 2017.
The competition consisted of 9 teens from various counties of New Jersey. These teens were judged in the areas of Interview, Talent, Evening Gown/Onstage Question, and Fitness Routine. In addition to her title, Haley also won the award for the Fitness competition. Haley received the Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen 2017 Crown and Sash, $175 in Scholarship, Trip to Miss New Jersey OTeen Pageant and Crown Box from the Miss Ramapo Valley Scholarship Organization, a Bracelet from Kathie’s Gifts & Accessories, Maywood, N.J., a Manicure form Perfect Nails, Maywood, N.J., and Flowers from Perry’s Florist, Glen Rock, N.J.
The Miss Ramapo Valley’s Outstanding Teen Pageant is an affiliate of the Miss America Outstanding Teen organization. The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the largest provider of Scholarship assistance for young women. Each year, the Miss America organization makes available more than $40 million in cash and tuition school assistance for young women.
During her reign, Haley will advocate her platform issue Youth Volunteerism-YOUth, volunteering, leading, and empowering; she hopes to increase awareness of community service opportunities, and the importance of our youth volunteering in community service, to our local youth and their parents.
“It is important for our youth to participate in community service to empower and build their own leadership skills and start becoming our leaders of tomorrow while at the same time giving back to our communities in so many ways,” Beauparlant said.
Haley is a volunteer with the “Vernon Youth Leadership program”, frequently volunteers her time by coordinating activities with the “Vernon Senior Center”, and is involved with many other various local volunteer activities.
She is currently coordinating a Fall Fashion Show Fundraising event at the “Vernon Senior Center” Nov. 10 to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
