    Sept. 1

    Tony Laterra, 22, of Oakland was indicted on charges of making terroristic threats, a third-degree crime, and causing false public alarms, a third-degree crime.
    The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
    Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks.
    John Carollo, 25, of Suffern, N.Y., was indicted on charges of theft, a third-degree crime.

    Sept. 9

    Michael Gable, Jr., 43, of Cuddebackville, N.Y., was sentenced to three years of probation with credit for time served. He was ordered to submit a DNA sample and pay fines/fees of $1,335.
    He plead guilty on July 18 to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and speeding, a motor vehicle offense.
    On July 21, 2015, the defendant was stopped for a motor vehicle violation in Lafayette and found to be in possession of 83 wax paper folds of heroin.
    Keith Mackerley, 33, of Port Jervis, N.Y., was sentenced to three years of probation. He was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service work, submit to a TASC evaluation and follow any and all recommendations from same, obtain his GED, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,285.
    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 1, 2016, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and improper lighting, a motor vehicle offense.
    On June 4, he was stopped by a New Jersey state trooper for a motor vehicle offense and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine.

    Sept. 12

    Sarah Brown, 33, of Wantage pleaded guilty to theft, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking funds for personal use from an account she was employed to maintain.
    Kolby Kapetankis, 34, of Sussex Borough pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime, and shoplifting, a disorderly persons offense.
    Sentencin is scheduled for Oct. 21.
    On Feb. 20, New Jersey State Police troopers were dispatched to the Quick Chek in Wantage in reference to a shoplifting complaint. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to shoplifting and possession of heroin.
    Andrew K. Gribble, 25, of Newton pleaded guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
    He admitted to selling heroin to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force in Newton on Aug. 20, 2015.
    Scott Verhage, Sr., 53, of Highland Lakes was sentenced to 90 days in jail, which the court suspended and a fine of $600.
    He pleaded guilty on Sept. 12, to Hindering Investigation/Prosecution, a disorderly persons offense.
    In pleading guilty, he admitted to filing a false internal affairs complaint against Vernon Township police officers for the purpose of hindering the investigation and prosecution of his son’s criminal charges.

    Sept. 16

    Patricia Hatton, 47, of Port Jervis was sentenced to two years of probation.
    She was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service work, continue mental health counseling, submit a DNA sample at her own expense, and pay fines and fees totaling $155.
    She pleaded guilty on Aug. 1 to shoplifting, a third-degree crime.
    On May 6, the defendant concealed multiple household grocery items and left the Montague Shop Rite without paying for the merchandise.
