Vernon names athletes of the week

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. has named its athletes of the week for the fourth week of the fall season.
Junior Maya Rakoczy has led the girl’s cross country team to a 5-2 start.
She finished first for Vernon in their tri-match against Sussex Tech and Lenape Valley this past week.
Coach Shenise states her hard work and drive keeps the rest of the team motivated on a daily basis. Her hard work all summer long has gotten her in shape to compete at the top of her game this season.
Senior Pat Weiss has been a big part of the boys cross country team's 7-0 start this season. He finished second and third overall in wins against Sussex Tech and Lenape Valley this past week.
Coach Shenise states Weiss is a great leader and guides his team each and every day to work hard and never settle for anything but the best.
