Scott Garrett's voting record

| 04 Oct 2016 | 02:14

This past week, the House of Representatives adopted a Federal Water Projects bill (HR5303) which authorized $5 billion for dozens of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers water projects.
The House also adopted an amendment to HR 5303 which provided $170 Million to help Flint, Mich., and other cities to replace lead contaminated drinking water pipes. Scott Garrett voted against that amendment — a true humanitarian.
Now, here is the the most hypocritical vote ever (and there were many) from our congressman. The Democrats offered an amendment to HR 5303 which would strip out of that bill an $810 million earmark for the Upper Trinity River project in Fort Worth, Texas. That project includes sports fields and a splash park which has been derided by he National Taxpayers Union. Here is a congressman that voted against sending any assistance to the Gulf States after Hurricane Katrina, who voted against sending aid to help rebuild our shore communities after Hurricane Sandy, why, because there were some items in the legislation that he didn't approve of (his usual excuse). Yet, he voted "YES" to spend $810 Million on an earmark for ball fields and a water park. We need a change now.
