Jewish congregation welcomes new cantor

The growing Congregation B’nai Shalom of Franklin and Newton welcomes Cantor Judith Naimark, who will participate in many aspects of Jewish life in Sussex county and surrounding counties.
Cantor Naimark earned the degree of Master of Sacred Music and Cantorial ordination at The Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. She holds membership in both The American Conference of Cantors and Cantors Assembly.
Cantor Naimark has served Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist congregations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Nevada. She was part of the 2001 cantorial delegation to Curaçao, for the 350th anniversary of the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere and has participated in cantor’s missions to Israel. Judy performs regularly with The New Jersey cantors Concert Ensemble, for whom she serves as Secretary.
At Congregation B’nai Shalom Cantor Naimark will lend her voice to High Holiday Services. She will also participate in weekly Shabbat services as well as being an instructor in the congregations expanded Hebrew School.
Cantor Naimark is a resident of Sussex County and looks forward to being involved in religious activities taking place in the county.
