Family Partners of Morris & Sussex Counties will host an orientation and informational workshop for families currently receiving or interested in receiving family support services through the Children’s System of Care from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27.
This educational session will provide a clear description of the roles and relationships among the organizations and system partners involved in this system of care: the Care Management Organization (CMO), Mobile Response (MR), and the Family Support Organization (FSO). Participants will learn about the role of PerformCare as the single point of entry for families seeking services through the CSOC. The workshop will be presented by Family Support Partners, parents of children with special challenges who have experience in providing peer support and advocacy and working with various system providers such as schools, the juvenile justice system, and mental and behavioral health providers to find comprehensive resources for children and their families. The session will include discussion about steps to take when a child or youth is experiencing a mental health, emotional or substance abuse crisis and will offer an opportunity for parents and caregivers to ask questions and address specific concerns.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 6–7:30 p.m. at the First Memorial Presbyterian Church, 51 West Blackwell Street, Dover, NJ. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is suggested. For further information or to register, please contact the Family Partners office, 973-940-3194, Ext. 19.
