Halloween comes to Drew Mountain

VERNON — For over 20 years Jim and Teresa Ipsale have thrilled passersby with their recurring displays of inflatable decorations. Their most impressive shows are during the Christmas and Halloween seasons, but they also put on shows during Thanksgiving and Easter. • Their Halloween display has 105 inflatable displays and takes only two days to install. The Christmas season show requires four days and has many more decorations, closer to 250. According to Jim Ipsale, “If they have an inflatable for it, we do it.” • Their home is located at 34 Drew Mountain Road about a half mile west of Route 517 and about a half mile east of Route 565. It is best viewed by cars heading up the mountain. Unless rain is forecast, the show usually begins after 2 p.m. and remains inflated until between 9:30 and 10 p.m.
