Scott Garrett is not extreme

Marilyn Carlin criticizes Congressman Scott Garrett for voting against numerous spending bills relating to 9/11 and others are upset because he has voted against several disaster relief appropriations bills. The reason that he does this is because many bills have had little or no provision for accountability — the best one being the bill to provide relief for the victims for Hurricane Katrina where 1) the temporary trailer homes for the many displaced families were loaded with asbestos in violation of federal law and could not be used, and 2) more than $70 million disappeared and was never recovered (NY Post). Every spending bill should have accountability built-in; sadly they don't. Scott Garrett is one of the most fiscally responsible members in Congress and understands the seriousness of our national debt. He doesn't like to spend money that we don't have in the first place. He is doing the job that we sent him there to do. He deserves our support because he supports us. You can't have it both ways.
