Breakneck Road closed to traffic

VERNON — On Sunday morning at around 10:30 a.m. many homes on Wawayanda Mountain experienced a momentary power disruption.
Although power lines were not directly affected, Breakneck Road was closed due to a dead tree falling onto the utility wires near the bottom of the road, just above its intersection with Route 515.
As a result, the road was closed to nearly all traffic as three crews disassembled and removed the tree and pruned nearby problem trees. After just over four hours, the roadway was again open to traffic shortly before 3 p.m.
