    Oct. 27Marco Angeles-Monter, 23, formerly of Newton was indicted on charges of third-degree crimes of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
    The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Stephanie LaCarrubba.
    Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next several weeks.
    Oct. 28Rebecca Nelson, 23, of Newton was sentenced to 18 months probation on condition that she complete 100 hours of community service, obtain a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, write 250-word letter of apology to the victim, submit a DNA sample, pay $1,000 restitution, and $155 in court fines and fees.
    She pleaded guilty on Sept. 7, to third-degree theft.
    While the defendant was an employee at Weis Market in Newton she took $1,000 without permission.
    Jason Morse, 36, of Ogdensburg was sentenced to three years of probation and 180 days in a home detention program, with eight days jail credit. He was ordered to attend three AA/NA meetings per week, obtain his GED, submit to a TASC evaluation as directed by probation, and pay fines and fees of $155.
    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 1, to theft, a fourth-degree crime.
    The defendant took a generator from a Sparta residence on Jan. 22.
    Francois Toussaint, 26, of Brooklyn was sentenced to three years of probation on condition that he maintain full-time employment, cooperate against his co-defendant, complete 200 hours of community service, pay $1,995 restitution to the victim (joint and several), and $155 in court fines and fees.
    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 8, to three counts of third-degree forgery and one count of obstructing the administration of the law, a fourth-degree crime.
    In February of 2016, the defendant and a co-defendant forged money orders and then cashed them at Branchville, Lafayette and Augusta post offices. When confronted by Hamburg police at the Hamburg Post Office he ran from the building. A foot pursuit ensued and Toussaint was caught a short time later. New Jersey state troopers also assisted in the multi-jurisdiction investigation.
    Kaseem Harris, 27 of Wharton was sentenced to one year of probation. He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees.
    Harris pleaded guilty on Sept. 12 to one count of resisting arrest, a fourth-degree crime.
    On June 12, Harris was arrested after he violated a domestic violence final restraining order and tried to prevent a law enforcement officer from arresting him.
    The case was investigated by Ptl. Maresca of the Hopatcong Police Department.
    Oct. 31Christopher Pask. 29, of Newton pleaded guilty to one count of contempt, a fourth-degree offense and one count of simple assault, a disorderly persons offense.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for Dec. 9.
    Brian Reed, 28, of Franklin pleaded guilty to one count of making terroristic threats, a third-degree offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9.
    Nov. 1Branden Corey, 25, of Stillwater pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and to joyriding, all third-degree crimes., and to failure to maintain lane, a motor vehicle offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 7.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to possessing 11 wax folds of heroin in Stillwater on Jan. 14 and one wax fold in Newton on July 5 and to taking his girlfriend’s car without her permission on June 9 in Branchville.
    The cases were investigated by Sgt. Michael Monaco of the Newton Police Department and by Trooper M.S. Zielinski, Trooper D.J. McCarthy, Trooper S.R. Szwech, and Trooper B.J. McNally of the New Jersey State Police.
    Nov. 3Anthony Girgenti, 56, of Hackettstown was convicted after a trial on driving while suspended, a fourth-degree crime. He also was found guilty of the motor vehicle offenses of driving while suspended and failure to produce a valid insurance card.
    On March 3, 2015, Girgenti was convicted in the Mansfield Township Municipal Court of his third offense of driving while intoxicated and his driver's license was suspended as a part of his sentence.
    On Aug. 28, 2015, Girgenti operated a motor vehicle in Andover Township during that period of Driver's License suspension.
    Nov. 4Kimberly Vandermark, 21, of Wantage was sentenced to two years of probation and was given credit for 12 days served. She was ordered to submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made from same, complete 50 hours of community service work, fulfill all PTI obligations, and pay fines and fees totaling $1,205.
    She pleaded guilty on Sept. 26, to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime.
