Memories from the kids’ table

If like my family, you can’t fit everyone for holiday meals at one giant table, this means a second table, often times a folding card table, is set up outside of the dining room — aka the kids’ table. For some, being stuck at this table is like being exiled. But for me, I have very fond memories of the kids’ table, which let’s be honest, is the fun table.
No adults means you can be as loud as you like. Playing with your food is expected. And no one is going to judge you for the crazy amount of food you’re about to consume. Or if you’re over 21 and still relegated to the kids’ table (like me), no one will judge you for how much wine you’re about to drink.
The one thing I know I can count on every year is my cousin Kevin taking a giant turkey leg, swearing he is going to eat the whole thing, and then not even getting close to finishing it. Pranks, such as salt or pepper in your drink, are also something to watch out for.
But looking back, the best part about sitting at the kids’ table is sharing funny stories about school or work and laughing at jokes you know the adult table wouldn’t understand.
