We are stronger together

To the Editor:
Tuesday’s election results are devastating for so many of us. We are feeling hurt, betrayed and of course vulnerable.
It seems that people we trusted and loved are not with us. We know what it is like to feel like we are less than and feel that these results confirm that. And, of course, our fear and concern that others who are not in alliance with us will be looking at us as people who are not deserving of the same rights they enjoy and what that will mean.
But what is true, and always will be true, is that your inner strength has helped you walk a path that many have never had the courage to do. That along with us supporting each other, discussing our fears and our triumphs, and protesting wrongs in a safe and controlled way will allow us to continue to move forward in ways that will allow us to “live our truth” openly, safely, and honestly. The result is knowing that we are never less than, and in fact your unique self and courage gives you the edge over so many others.
My respect and belief in our community is immense and I am proud to know you all.
Together we can accomplish great things!
