Robert E. Baldwin

Robert E. Baldwin, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon Twp. Bob, son of the late Robert F. and Allena (Mott) Baldwin was born in Sussex on June 6, 1931. He was a lifelong resident of Vernon.
Bob was the owner of many businesses throughout Sussex County. He also enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Montana.
Bob was a former mayor and councilman of Vernon Twp. and served on multiple Boards. He was an Exempt Member and former Chief of Vernon Twp. Fire Department, a member of the Sussex Elks Lodge, the NRA was also a supporter of VFW Post #8441 and the Vernon Twp Ambulance Squad.
Bob was predeceased by daughter Lori Baldwin in 1985 and is survived by his wife Jeanette (Gaillard) Baldwin, children; Robert G. Baldwin of Vernon, Joan Hussey & her husband, Tom, of Jericho, Vt., Cathy Havens and her husband, Don, of Wantage Twp. and Sharon Scarmazzo of Leeds, UK; brother, Warren Baldwin and his wife Connie of Vernon, grandchildren, TJ Hussey and his wife Corinna, Traci Baldwin-Carter and her husband Greg, Jaime Commerato and her husband John, Kristi Raperto and her husband James, Michael Hussey, Sheri Caldarella and her husband Mike, Ryley Finn, great-grandchildren Zandra, Bryce, Bradley, Abigail, Nicholas, Taylor, Olivia, Mark, Ella, Cecilia, and Violet, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will was held Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales RC Church 614 Rt. 517 Vernon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, Glenwood. A visitation was held Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312.
