Vernon girls win tournament

VERNON — Vernon girls from the former U-12 Babe Ruth Softball team on Nov. 6 joined together after a three-year absence to win three games at the Carteret Softball Tournament.
Vernon defeated ITZ 8-1, New Jersey Avalanche, 6-2, and Gloucester Lady Lions, 18-4. Vernon's balance of experience and youth propelled them to dominate victories. Vernon's pitching and hitting were no match for the three opponents.
Vernon's team consisted of Franki Potocki, Melissa Lancellotti, Gianna Valsoney, Natalie Alheidt, Oliva Vizzini, Oliva Amorosi, Gabby Colon, Victoria Grifone, Kaitlyn Buurman, and Angie Barbero.
