Vernon names athletes of the week

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. named its athletes of the week for week 10 of the fall 2016 season.
Two males were named because there were no girls' sports in action that week.
Senior Bryan Forino took 40th overall out of 150 runners in the Group 2 Championship race at Holmdel Park. Bryan had an amazing year leading the boys cross country team to a 7-2 record this season. Coach Shenise said Bryan will be an irreplaceable runner.
Both his talent and leadership are going to be missed upon graduation.
Junior Matt Rapisardi has been consistently our hardest hitter all season for the football team according to Coach Tepper.
He has had a wonderful season as Fullback and an inside linebacker. Matt had 9 carries for 75 yards and 1 touchdown against Tenafly this past Thursday. He also had 4 tackles, 1 solo tackle, and 1 tackle for a loss. He was also the winner of the “Hit of the Week” award. Coach Tepper is looking for great things from Matt next year as a senior.
