Rhea Grace Massaro

    Rhea Grace Massaro (nee Couturier), 85 years old, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016. Born to Lionel and Mary Couturier in Passaic, N.J., she grew up in Garfield and lived in Lake Stockholm for over 40 years before moving to Vernon Twp., N.J. 12 years ago.
    Rhea worked as a group home manager for the Center for Humanistic Change in Passaic, N.J., visiting many of the homes they supported, retiring in 1996. She volunteered at Good Samaritan and was a parishioner of St. John Vianney RC Church, Stockholm, N.J. She enjoyed swimming, riding bicycles with her brother, but most of all spending time with her family. She was a regular Peace Marcher and a strong advocate for world peace.
    Rhea is predeceased by her husband, Louis P. Massaro (1988), grandson, Aaron Massaro (2007) and a sister, Evelyn Arndt (2015) and is the devoted mother of Louis Massaro and his wife, Patricia of Andover, N.J., Jacqueline Massaro and her fiancée, Craig Jung, of Vernon Twp., N.J. Loving grandmother of Josh Mueller and his fiancée, Stephanie Kelly, Alexandra and Christian Hollis. Great-grandmother of Dalton and Daimon Mueller. Dear sister of Lionel Couturier and his wife, SusanJoe of Cranston, R.I. Beloved Aunt and Godmother of Gretchen Mendel of Butler, N.J.
    The family received their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main Street, Franklin, N.J., on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. Funeral service commenced at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery, Andover, N.J.
