Dorothy Kopec (nee Lukach), 93 years old, died after a short illness at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Warwick, N.Y., on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016. Born to Michael and Mae Lukach, she lived in Garfield, N.J., for many years before moving to the Barry lakes section of Vernon Twp., N.J., in 1965.
Dorothy first worked as a banquet waitress for the Cotillion in Garfield and then owned and operated The Plain and Fancy Store in Highland Lakes, N.J., for 28 years retiring in 2002.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, Albert Kopec and her sons, Albert Kopec, Jr. and Kenneth Kopec and is the devoted mother of Kathleen Korsakoff and her husband Dennis of Barry Lakes, N.J. Cherished by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear sister of John Lukach of Maryland and Emily Mulzet of Toms River, N.J.
