Project Help planning to take services to veterans

Project Help is planning to take services to veterans in need using their newly acquired bus.
The big yellow school bus was donated to Project Help by George’s Salvage in Newton, NJ.
“Mike, the owner, and I ran into each other at Byram Day and when I mentioned our plans to have a Mobile unit to serve our veterans, he gave us a bus”, said Sandy Mitchell, Founder of Project Help. “At first I thought he was messing with me, but he was very serious”, she said.
At about the same time, a Bergen County VFW offered to provide Project Help with a storage unit, which was a shock as well and they would vote on it in November. Soon thereafter, Project Help was donated a truckload of brand new clothing, hangers and racks that had to be moved out of the current location within a week. The storage unit would not be available for a least a month.
As destiny would have it, Moove In Self Storage offered a 10x20 unit for free. The unit is in Hampton, N.J., and has been a wonderful way to house donated items.
A local Votech is hoping to do the renovation of the bus into a Mobile closet. They will design, paint and convert the inside into a closet where vets can get free clothing. Boonton Auto body has donated the automotive paint for the job.
All of this happened within two weeks and they hope to have the bus on the road by Spring 2017.
