Vernon honors athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletics Dept. announced its athletes of the week for Week 2 of the winter season.
Senior 4-year Varsity Swimmer and Co-Captain of this year’s Vernon Girls swim team, Madison Gigante is off to a great start.
According to Coach Jen Baldwin, Madison swam the race of her life. She dropped 4 seconds from her personal best in the 100-yard breaststroke to secure a win over Mount Olive. Madison has been working very hard to improve her turns and stroke this season. Coach Baldwin is extremely proud of her this season.
Senior Sean Sabol led the boys basketball Team to an opening night victory over Kittatinny with 18 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
For Sean’s efforts through leadership and work-ethic, he will be recognized as one of the captains for this year’s squad. According to Assistant Coach Don Ploch, Sean can play multiple positions, he is a great shooter and a tremendous student in the classroom.
