Yardley to run for freeholder

NEWTON — Herbert Yardley, a former Sussex County Health Officer, recently announced in a letter to the county Republican committee of his intention to seek election to the county Board of Chosen Freeholders in the 2017 election.
Yardley has been a resident of Stillwater for more than 30 years and during that time as served as Township Committeeman, Republican Committeeman, Deputy Mayor and Mayor. He recently retired as the County Health Officer, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Health Dept.
The seat held by Freeholder Phillip Crabb is up for election in 2017.
