Joan Mary Polizzi

Joan Mary Polizzi(nee Sheridan), 80 years old, died after a short illness at her residence on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. Born to Patrick and Martha Sheridan in Paterson, N.J., she had lived in Passaic, N.J. before moving to the Vernon/McAfee area in 1968.
Joan had worked as a cashier at A&P Supermarket, Action Park and the Gift Shop for Season’s Resort.
Joan is predeceased by her husband, Carmen Polizzi, three brothers, Patrick, Daniel and Mickey Sheridan and a sister, Nancy Garrison and is the devoted mother of James Polizzi and his wife, Julia of Vernon Twp., N.J., and Craig Polizzi of Long Branch, N.J. Loving grandmother of Dalton J. and Kayleigh G. Polizzi. Dear sister of Shirley Riley of Dingman’s Ferry, Pa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends for memorial visitation at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, NJ on Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. Memorial service to follow at the funeral home at 5 p.m. Cremation was private.
