Vernon DECA hosted a “dress-up” day on Jan. 6 to support the Self-Love Awareness Campaign in an effort to spread the message of self-confidence and body positivity through the high school to students in an age group notoriously known for having low self-esteem.
The students who are in charge of this campaign, Stevie Vallellanes, Abigail Reed, and Madison Kleeschulte also gave out free compliments in the form of tear-away strips on posters hung around the school and had a sticky note banner which was hung in the school for students to take when they needed a boost of confidence to brighten their day.
Vernon DECA is also giving out pledges to remind people that even after this project ends, they need to continue to build themselves up and others by spreading Self- Love Awareness.
