Ronald E. Hartos

    Ronald E. Hartos, 66 died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at his home in the Highland Lakes section of Vernon. Mr. Hartos, son of the late John and Helen (Pastor) Hartos was born in Hackensack February 15, 1950. He had resided in Garfield for many years, moving to Highland Lakes 20 years ago.
    Mr. Hartos worked for NJ Transit retiring in 2006 from the Wayne Garage. He began as a driver, then became a mechanic and retired as a supervisor after 30 years of service. Upon his retirement he worked for Decker Transportation in Vernon as a school bus driver. Mr. Hartos was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
    Mr. Hartos was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Elaine Foss, Priscilla Levine, Richard Hartos and Raymond Hartos. He is survived by his nieces and nephews.
    A visitation will be held Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court) Vernon. A graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery 234 Paramus Rd. Paramus, NJ.
