    Jan. 27Richard Regan, 43, of Newton was sentenced to two years of probation and 80 days in jail with credit for five days served. He was ordered to pay fines and fees totaling $155.
    He pleaded guilty on Dec. 12, 2016, to driving while suspended for a second or subsequent suspension for driving while intoxicated, a fourth-degree crime.
    On Dec. 2, 2015, he drove a motor vehicle on Newton-Sparta Road in Andover Township while his license was suspended for a second or subsequent violation of driving while intoxicated.
    Eric Schnitzler, 48, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years of probation, with the conditions that he continue and complete Mental Health counseling, have no unsupervised contact with minors, internet monitoring through probation, obtain employment, and submit a DNA sample. He also was ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees totaling $905.
    He pleaded guilty on Nov. 29, 2016, to one count of endangering the welfare of children by possessing an item depicting the sexual exploitation or abuse of a child, a third-degree crime.
    Jan. 30Andre Febus, 25, of Stockholm pleaded guilty to two counts of posession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree.
    Sentencing is presently scheduled for March 10.
    The defendant admitted that he was in possession of cocaine and hydrocodone while involved as a passenger in two separate a motor vehicle stops in Vernon and Franklin.
    Jan. 31William Vanluvender, 43, of Newton pleaded guilty to theft, a third-degree crime, theft, a fourth-degree crime, two counts of forgery, a third-degree crime, and theft by deception, a third-degree crime.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 10, 2017.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking and forging a check in January of 2016 in Andover Township and cashing it at a place in Parsippany. He also admitted to accepting deposits in May and June of 2016 from Byram residents to perform tree services but never did the work or returned the money.
    Feb. 1George Decker, 27, of Newton pleaded guilty to theft, a third-degree crime and violation of probation.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for March 24, 2017.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to taking jewelry, a computer and a rock collection from an individual in Andover Township in November of 2015.
    Feb. 3Thomas J. Scott, 29, of Hamburg was sentenced to 90 days in the Sussex County Home Detention Program, a 9-month driver's license suspension and a term of probation. He also must complete 300 hours of community service in a hospital environment, enter and successfully complete a driver improvement class, undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit a DNA sample, hand write a letter of apology — minimum of 300 words — to the victim and pay $688.00 in court fines and fees.
    He pleaded guilty on Dec. 19, 2016, to assault by auto, a crime of the fourth degree.
    In June of 2016 the defendant was driving recklessly and crossed over the double yellow lines on Route 23 in Franklin, causing a motor vehicle accident, where the driver of the other vehicle sustained serious injuries from the crash.
    Brandon Blenis, 33, of Vernon was sentenced to four years of probation and 300 hours of community service. Blenis was also ordered to pay mandatory fines and fees.
    Blenis pleaded guilty on Nov. 14, 2016, to one count of Contempt, a fourth-degree offense, one count of throwing bodily fluid at a law enforcement officer, a fourth-degree offense and one count of Under the Influence of CDS, a disorderly persons offense.
    On Jan. 5, 2016, Blenis was arrested after violating a temporary restraining order.
