Girl Scout Daisy Troop No. 96608 participated in a Holiday Service Project they called Cards for Soldiers.
The girls used their cookie sales money to purchase over 300 blank holiday cards. With the assistance from their schools, Walnut Ridge and Cedar Mountain in Vernon, Teachers & students were asked if they would be willing to participate. Children helped decorate and write a messages of holiday cheer and thankfulness to the Soldiers for their service.
The Daisy Troop stuffed and sticker’d all of the cards and met with First Sergeant Fregeau from Picatinny Arsenal whom is part of the Mid Atlantic Recruiting Battalion. The girls collected about 350 cards that were distributed to Soldiers in Stations from Picatinny all the way to Philadelphia. The Daisies were happy to spread some holiday cheer, learning that many soldiers are not able to spend the holiday with their families.
Troop 96608 wants to thank all of our Soldiers for their service and wish everyone Happy Holidays.
