Nominations being accepted for Vernon senior of the year

VERNON — Nominations are being accepted for Vernon’s Senior of the Year.
The nominee must be a Vernon resident for a minimum of five years and have rendered service that benefits the community and surrounding areas; such as volunteering in hospitals, county, with youth.
The nomination form is available on the Vernon Township website: www.vernontwp.com and also at the Vernon Senior Center.
Nominees must not be an employee of Vernon Township or a member of the Senior Board. Recommendations should be sent to the attention of Vernon Township Senior Center at 21 Church St., Vernon, NJ 07462 or faxed to 973-764-5560.
The winner will be announced at the senior of the year luncheon to be held in May.
Vernon seniors interested in attending the luncheon can sign up at the Vernon Senior Center on Wednesday, April 19, between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon. No reservations will be accepted after this date.
Proof of residency must be provided at the time of sign-up. Cost is $10 per person.
