Vincent J. Annunziato

Vincent J. Annunziato Jr. was born on Nov. 14, 1949. Raised in Newark, N.J., he was the son of Vincent Sr. and Olga Annunziato and brother to Verne and Frank Annunziato. Vincent dropped out of high school at 15 years of age to support his family when his father fell ill and could no longer work. In his 20s, he met his wife Mary Bader and married; they had three children: Melissa, Vincent III and Stacey.
Vincent started his own cleaning company, Done-Rite Carpet Cleaning, allowing Mary, Melissa and Vincent III to move from the city to rural Vernon, N.J. Vincent and Mary raised their family in Vernon where his business flourished and in his spare time he coached girls softball for Melissa and Stacey. He also coached Vincent III in little league baseball and would eventually become president of the league.
In 2002, Vincent's oldest daughter Melissa was killed in a car accident. Shortly after, he moved with Mary and Stacey from Vernon to Toms River, N.J., where Vincent would retire with Mary. He lived his remaining years next to his wife enjoying playing cards, golfing, and taking trips to Atlantic City until he passed away due to illness on February 17, 2017.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Mary Annunziato, his son Vincent Annunziato III (Christie), his daughter Stacey Payne (Jon), granddaughters Madison Payne and Nina Annunziato, and grandson Jaxson Payne. He was predeceased by his parents Vincent Sr. and Olga Annunziato, his siblings Verne Miller and Frank Annunziato, and his daughter Melissa Annunziato.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to time of service at noon at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94, Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Ct.), committal interment services at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, N.Y.
